Vittoria Mazza Enduro Race MTB Tyre

The Mazza has always been one of the most trusted tread patterns in enduro racing — a do-it-all mixed terrain tyre that works front and rear, climbs better than it has any right to, and corners with confidence-inspiring predictability. The Vittoria Mazza Enduro Race takes everything that made the original Mazza great and sharpens it to a race-day edge — an ultra-soft, single-compound rubber construction that maximises grip, mutes chatter, and rebounds with supple predictability on any technical course.

Engineered for the aggression, technical expertise, and pedalling power of EWS pros, no tyre responds as intuitively or as predictably on mixed-terrain gravity runs as the Mazza Enduro Race.

Get the tyre on an obstacle. It sticks.

What Makes the Race Variant Different from the Standard Mazza Enduro?

The Mazza Enduro Race shares the same directional tread pattern as the standard Mazza Enduro — but everything underneath is different.

Compound:

The Mazza Enduro Race is constructed with the 1C Race rubber compound — a new ultra-soft race-optimised compound featuring both Graphene and Silica additives to boost grip and damping properties.

Unlike the standard Mazza Enduro’s 4C Graphene compound (four compounds of varying hardness balanced across the tread for speed and durability), the Race variant uses a single softer compound across the full tread — softer than any of the four compounds in the 4C layup — for maximum outright traction.

Casing:

The Mazza Race Enduro uses a 1-ply 60 TPI construction with an anti-puncture layer underneath the centre tread and a shorter Anti-Pinch Flat insert at the sidewalls.

This makes it lighter and more supple than the 2-ply 120 TPI Enduro casing — but with meaningful puncture protection retained at the critical points.

Tread Pattern — Proven on the EWS Circuit

The Mazza’s tread design is one of the most considered in the enduro category — engineered through years of athlete feedback on the Enduro World Series circuit:

Centre tread: Deep siping runs in the direction of rotation, allowing the tyre to roll with low resistance while actively opposing drift — particularly effective on off-camber terrain where maintaining a straight line under load matters most. The stepped leading edge of the centre block rolls like a ramp on flat ground but digs in under climbing torque — making the Mazza a genuine two-way tyre, comfortable front or rear.

Braking traction: Substantial spacing between the centre tread blocks provides both braking traction under heavy deceleration and accelerated mud and debris self-cleaning — two characteristics that matter enormously on long, wet enduro stages.

Progressive siping on the shoulder knobs:

Vittoria’s trademark progressive sipe width technology gives a gummy inside effective edge without the instability that competitors experience on the outside of the tread. Bigger sipes flex more than smaller sipes — this unique siping pattern creates asymmetrical tread flex, translating into a predictable, confident, and communicative feel at the limit of cornering.

1C Race Compound — Graphene + Silica

The 1C Race compound is Vittoria’s most performance-focused rubber to date — a single-durometer ultra-soft formulation combining two of the most effective traction-enhancing technologies in tyre construction:

Graphene: Infused into the rubber matrix to improve puncture resistance, wet grip, rebound, and durability simultaneously — without adding rolling resistance.

Silica: Increases wet grip and damping properties, improving traction on slick roots, wet rocks, and greasy off-camber terrain — the surfaces where standard compounds lose grip first.

The result is a compound that prioritises grip and damping over longevity and rolling efficiency — the correct trade-off for race day and high-performance riding.

Vittoria’s choice to rely on a soft, conformant compound for traction rather than a super sticky compound helps to reduce drag and keep rolling speed to a minimum when pedalling.
